Glasgow Gurdwara, Nithsdale Road is the oldest Gurdwara in Scotland, home to the Sangat of Glasgow’s Southside community. Established in the 1960s, the Gurdwara has served as a place for Sikhs and non-Sikhs to pray, learn Panjabi, get married, say goodbye to loved ones and celebrate Sikh history. It has served as a focal point for the political and social activities for Scottish Sikhs for decades. Over the years the Gurdwara has played host to various Sikh personalities and non-Sikh including Prime Minister Gordon Brown & Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
