This is the first Sikh Gurdwara in Leicester. Initially at a different location in the 1960s, in 1989 the Gurdwara was moved to the site of a converted textiles factory at Holy Bones, next to St Nicholas’ Church and the famous Jewry Wall remains. Today it has free parking for visitors and, in addition to the main prayer room and communal kitchen, it has an annexed museum,Guru Nanak Sikh Museum, which not only provides information about the Sikh religion but Indian history in general with particular emphasis on India in Imperial Britain and Indian regiments of the British Army before and during both World Wars.
