GURUDWARA SHRI SMADH BABA BUDHA JI is situated in the Village Ramdas Distt Amritsar. During missionary journeys, in Samat 1575 Bikrami 1518 SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI came and sat under a tree of tahli (fig tree), near town Ramdas. He met a child there. When GURU SAHIB heard a small child talking on vairagb(separation or detachment) and bibek (prudent) then SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI said that "You are still a kid and you talk like a wise man. You are not a kid but an oldster (wise man)". GURU SAHIB blessed him and honored him as wise man.
This tahli tree is present inside GURUDWARA SAHIB. In 1766, the pyre of Baba Buddha ji was set up by SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI at the place where GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI is parkashit today, according to Sikh tradition, ardas was done and Bhai Bhana, younger son of Baba Buddha Ji lit the pyre. There is also a platform called Tharha Sahib where SHRI GURU HAR GOBIND JI recited Kirtan Sohila. At the time of death, Baba Buddha ji's age was 125 Years 11 month and 11 days. At the time of cremation ceremony, SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI, Bhai Bidhi Chand, Bhai Jetha Singh and sangat were present there
